Founded in 2003, NinjaTraders provided advanced trading tools for nearly two million traders and operated as Futures Commission (FCM) traders registered with the CFTC.
Through this acquisition, CFTC-listed FCM NinjaTrader licenses will allow Kraken to offer its future of crypto and derivatives in the US, as well as accelerate NinjaTrader expansion to the UK, Europe, and Australia.
For Kraken and NinjaTrader clients, this acquisition provides a multi-asset trade that gives users the ability to trade cryptocurrencies, futures contracts, and other traditional financial products.
Responding to this news, Oppenheimer analyst Owen Lau said that the acquisitions like Kraken and NinjaTrader were a good move.

"This is an important deal for the industry because it's an agreement between a genuine crypto company and a traditional financial company, and it's a huge deal worth more than a billion dollars," Lau told Reuters.
Lau also expects more deals to take place under the president, Congress, and most pro-crypto regulators, and says "there will be continuous crypto-traditional financial convergence".
