Sending Illegal Migrant Workers To Saudi Arabia, Naughty P3MI In Kramat Jati Sealed By P2MI Minister

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Migrant Worker Placement Company (P3MI) and the Job Training Institute (LPK), PT Elshafah Adi Wiguna Mandiri, located in the Kramat Jati area, East Jakarta, were sealed.

The sealing was carried out directly by the Minister for the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (P2MI) Abdul Kadir Karding and his staff, Friday, March 21.

P3MI, located in the Kramat Jati area, East Jakarta, is suspected of illegally sending Indonesian migrant workers to Saudi Arabia.

"Our team has also gone to the field to cross-check and also found photos of the person concerned before placing them in Saudi Arabia," said Minister Karding at the sealing location, quoted in an official statement from the Ministry of P2MI, today.

In principle, P3MI cannot have its own training institution. However, the sealed placement company has its own training institution in conjunction with the P3MI office.

"In the rules mentioned, P3MI companies cannot have their own training institutions. Therefore, this LPK will be part of what we will investigate next. So this is suspected to be two violations at once," said Minister Karding.

When checking after sealing LPK and P3MI, Minister Karding found that the place was inappropriate to be called a training institution.

"The assumption is that this is a shelter, not this LPK, it is possible," said Minister Karding.

Therefore, Minister Karding said that his party had temporarily suspended and sealed the P3MI and LPK offices for further investigation.
