Threads Launch A Number Of New Features, Now You Can Set Accounts Commenting On Posts

JAKARTA Meta is rolling out an update for Threads, an app that is a competitor to X. This update includes new features such as topics in the bio, reply settings and quotes, to new buttons in the video.

If previously users had to look for new friends manually, now they just need to pay attention to the bio in the account to follow. According to Meta's explanation, Threads users can add ten topics to their bio.

This topic will be a new reference for users who want to find more friends. They can get people from the same community or have the same interest. For now, this bio topic is being tested on a number of users.

Next, Meta adds the ability to set who can reply to posts. This feature is similar to the one on X, a platform previously known as Twitter. With this feature, users can determine who they want to interact with.

To set an account that can comment, users can make posts as usual. However, before the post is uploaded, users need to tap on the caption 'Anyone can reply and quote' that appears in the lower left corner of the screen.

When tapped, there is a small window that will appear with four options. Users can select Everyone, Your Followers, The Profile You Follow, and Only Marked. After that, users only need to tap the Send button in the lower right corner.

The last feature launched is seen in video playback. According to Meta, media players in Threads are now more sophisticated because of the updated pause, play, and skip buttons. Meta also adds a forward and backward bar to make it easier for users.

"We are excited to introduce these features and we are committed to continuing to build tools that help make Threads a space where you can be yourself and connect with other people who have the same interest," Meta said through its official broadcast.
