Inaugurated By President Prabowo, SEZ Of Industropolis Batang Ready To Go Worldwide

JAKARTA - PT Kawasan Industri Terpadu Batang (KITB) which is part of the BUMN Holding Danareksa officially received status as a Special Economic Zone (KEK) Industropolis Batang through a Government Regulation signed by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, on March 25, 2025. With an area of 2,886.7 hectares of the total development area of 4,300 ha. This SEZ status makes KITB an international standard industrial, logistics and tourism center, as well as a global investment magnet that is ready to accelerate national economic growth.

As a SEZ, Industropolis Batang offers various fiscal and non-fiscal incentives, as well as ease of licensing that is increasingly attractive to investors. Before holding SEZ status, KITB has 27 tenants who have committed to investing, including 7 tenants that are already operating, 7 in the construction stage, and 13 in preparation for construction, KITB recorded an investment value of IDR 17.95 trillion.

Investors come from various countries such as the United States, Netherlands, South Korea, Chile, Japan, Taiwan, and China, as well as covering a variety of industrial sectors, ranging from solar panels, glass, wood pellets, footwear, PVC, gripping balls, ceramics, industrial gas, to medical devices.

Currently, of the 7 tenants that have been operating, KITB has absorbed 7,008 jobs, with 80 percent of the local workers from Batang Regency. With the SEZ status, it is hoped that additional investment worth IDR 75.8 trillion will enter, as well as creating 58,145 new jobs.

When fully operational, the Industropolis Batang SEZ is projected to absorb up to 250,000 workers, making it one of the largest and most influential industrial areas in Indonesia.

The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, stated that the SEZ of Industropolis Batang is proof of the government's commitment to accelerating economic development and creating more jobs for the Indonesian people.

"We want Indonesia to become a global industrial center, and the Industropolis Batang SEZ will be a model for the success of developing an integrated industrial area," said Prabowo, Thursday, March 20.

The Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, emphasized that the SEZ of Industropolis Batang has a strategic role in strengthening Indonesia's economic competitiveness in the international arena.

"With competitive incentives and complete infrastructure support, this area will be a major destination for investors in various industrial sectors," said Airlangga.

President Director of PT Danareksa (Persero), Yadi Jaya Ruchandi, revealed that the status of this SEZ further strengthens the position of KITB as a leading industrial area.

"We are committed to continuing to encourage the development of the Industropolis Batang SEZ so that it can have a broad and sustainable economic impact," Yadi explained.

"We are grateful to have the opportunity from the government to build an area that is truly complete. And we hope that today it will be inaugurated by the President of our special economic zone, we can really encourage the acceleration of investment in Indonesia," concluded Ngurah Wirawan as President Director of PT Batang Integrated Industrial Estate.

The existence of the Industropolis Batang SEZ is also in line with the Asta Cita Pemerintah, one of which is targeting an increase in the competitiveness of the national industry and the creation of broad employment opportunities. This SEZ status is a tangible manifestation of the government's efforts to realize Indonesia's economic transformation towards developed industrial countries, as well as improve people's welfare through inclusive and sustainable development.
