After Dasco, Prabowo's Nephew's Gliran Visits IDX
JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives and the nephew of President Prabowo Subianto Budisatrio Djiwandono and Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives Commission XI Mohamad Hekal came to the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in the inauguration of the buyback without a General Meeting of Shareholders (GMS).
Budi said that the presence was a form of DPR RI's support for the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), after the volatility in the Composite Stock Price Index (JCI).
"We believe these policies have been carefully considered and this will strengthen the confidence of market players in the future and we are confident that the Indonesian economy is strong and we will see this according to the regulations announced by Mr. Inarno and his friends. In addition, Budi conveyed that he fully supports the policy and believes that OJK and IDX have the capacity and professionalism in issuing policies to convince investor confidence.
"We support OJK policy makers. We believe they have the capacity and professionalism to carefully calculate the regulations that can be issued to ensure investor confidence in conducting the market," he said.
In addition, he assessed that the JCI's performance had improved quite a bit, as reflected in the JCI movement which reached IDR 6,284.53, an increase of 0.98 percent at the close of trading session I, Wednesday, March 19.
Previously, the House of Representatives (DPR) conducted a surprise inspection (sidak) of PT Bursa Efek Indonesia (IDX).
This inspection was carried out in relation to the weakening of the Composite Stock Price Index (JCI) movement at the level of 6,076.08, down 6.12 percent at the close of trading session I, Tuesday, March 18.
Meanwhile, the visit was attended, Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, Chairman of Commission XI of the House of Representatives, Mukhamad Misbakhun, and Deputy Chairman of Commission XI Mohamad Hekal, Wihadi Wiyanto, Putri Komarudin and Fauzi Amro.
The visit was also welcomed by IDX President Director Iman Rachman, along with all levels of IDX directors and members of the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) as well as the Chief Executive Supervisory of the Capital, Finance, Derivative and Carbon Exchange Inarno Djajadi Market.

The chairman of Commission XI of the DPR, Mukhamad Misbakhun, said that the visit was aimed at giving a positive response to the Indonesia Stock Exchange, and asserting that no panic had occurred.
"We want to make a positive response to the stock exchange, there is no panic whatsoever," he explained to the media crew, Tuesday, March 18.
