Alert! Jakarta, Denpasar, And Kupang Potentially Rain Accompanied By Lightning Today

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) informed that a number of major cities in Indonesia are expected to experience rain accompanied by lightning on Wednesday, March 19.

Quoted by ANTARA from the BMKG Instagram social media page (@infobmkg), rain accompanied by lightning will hit several cities on the islands of Sumatra, Java, Bali, East Nusa Tenggara, Sulawesi and Papua.

On the island of Sumatra, the Tanjungpinang and Bandar Lampung areas are expected to experience rain accompanied by lightning. Meanwhile, Palembang is expected to experience moderate rain.

Cities such as Pekanbaru, Padang, Bengkulu, Jambi and Pangkalpinang are expected to experience light rain. Meanwhile, Banda Aceh and Medan are predicted to be thick cloudy.

On the island of Java, the Jakarta area needs to be watched out for because it will experience rain accompanied by lightning. Surabaya is predicted to rain with moderate intensity, while Serang, Bandung, Semarang and Yogyakarta are forecast to experience light rain.

Denpasar and Kupang areas are expected to experience rain accompanied by lightning. Meanwhile, Mataram is expected to experience light rain.

In Kalimantan, a number of cities such as Pontianak, Palangka Raya, Banjarmasin, Tanjung Selor and Samarinda are expected to experience light rain.

On the island of Sulawesi, rain accompanied by lightning is expected to hit Kendari. The Mamuju and Makassar areas will experience moderate rain, while Manado, Gorontalo and Palu are predicted to receive light rain.

In Eastern Indonesia, Merauke is expected to experience rain accompanied by lightning. Ternate is expected to experience lightning, while Nabire has moderate rain.

The rain with intensity is expected to wet cities such as Ambon, Sorong, Manokwari, Jayapura and Jayawijaya.
