DIY Police Prepares QR Code To Smooth The Flow Of Homecoming Vehicles At The Kalasan Sleman Toll Gate

YOGYAKARTA - The Traffic Directorate of the Yogyakarta Special Region Police (DIY) has prepared a QR code to help travelers who go out through the functional toll gate in Tamanmartani Village, Kalasan, Sleman so that they are not trapped in a narrow or congested lane during the 2025 Eid homecoming flow.

"We have prepared the QR code. So, people don't follow Google Maps, sometimes if you follow Google Maps it is directed to narrow or small routes," said Director of the Traffic Directorate of the Yogyakarta Regional Police, Kombes Yuswanto Ardi, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, March 17.

Previously, PT Jasamarga Jogja Solo (JMJ) planned to prepare a 6.7 kilometer Prambanan-Kalasan toll road with an exit at Tamanmartani, Kalasan, Sleman as a functional toll road during the 2025 Eid homecoming flow.

By scanning the QR code, he said, travelers can directly access alternative route guides so that trips are smoother and avoid narrow or crowded lanes to various areas such as Sleman, Bantul, or to Magelang, Central Java.

In addition, the Yogyakarta Regional Police has also prepared a traffic flow diversification scheme so that vehicles do not accumulate to the south.

Kombes Pol. Ardi said that travelers who left Tamanmartani would be directed to a predetermined lane so that the distribution of vehicles was more equitable.

According to him, the functional toll road leading to Tamanmartani is planned to start on March 24, 2025. However, because the completeness is not fully adequate, the operation of this toll road only applies during the day and is situational, or depending on traffic conditions.

"The Tamanmartani Toll Exit is heading to a district road with a much different capacity from the toll road. Therefore, if there is a density, the flow of vehicles will be diverted to the Prambanan Toll Exit," explained Kombes. Ardi.

The Yogyakarta Regional Police have installed cameras with traffic counting features to monitor the volume of vehicles on LPMP Street or roads that will be passed by travelers from Tamanmartani.

If the volume of vehicles on this road reaches 70 percent of the maximum capacity, he said, the flow will be diverted to the Prambanan Exit Toll to prevent severe congestion.

Kombes Ardi estimates that 1.5 million vehicles will enter DIY during the Lebaran 2025 homecoming period with a peak current on March 27, 2025.
