YouTube Adds Podcast Special Tabs On Android TV For A Wider Range

JAKARTA - YouTube is getting more and more serious in developing its platform as a home for podcast content. Now, special tabs "Podcasts" are starting to become more widely available on YouTube apps for Android TV, making it easier for users to find and enjoy their favorite episodes.

Although it is not known for certain when this option first appeared, many users are now reporting that the "Podcasts" section can be accessed more widely.

This tab is located on the YouTube app's neighbourhood, just below "Movies & TV" and "Subscriptions." With this tab, users no longer need to enter certain channels just to find the podcast episode they want.

However, there is a bit of confusion regarding the content that appears in this tab. Some users found that apart from podcast episodes, there are also long music tracks or mixes that are not explicitly categorized as podcasts by the channel that uploaded them.

In addition, when selecting podcasts, users are not given additional control or special features such as time jumps. Podcast screening remains like a regular video, with chapters (chapters) available when arranged by the uploader.

This step is in line with Google's aggressive strategy of encouraging podcast growth on the YouTube platform. According to the company's latest data, YouTube now has more than 1 billion podcast users every month.
