Mario Aji Disappointed To Fail To Get A Birthday Gift In Moto2 Argentina 2025

JAKARTA The young Indonesian racer, Mario Aji, admitted that he was disappointed that he failed to get points in Moto2 Argentina 2025 as a birthday present which fell right on the day of the race.

The rider belonging to the Idemitsu Honda team started racing at the Termas de Rio Hondo Circuit from the 13th position on Sunday, March 16, 2025. He had a great opportunity to finish in the top 10, but fell and failed to finish.

"It hurts because I have speed to finish in the top 10. I didn't even force myself to the maximum limit," he said on the team's official website.

At the beginning of the race in Argentina, Mario was overtaken by several riders so that his position slumped.

However, he slowly got up and tried to improve his position. Unfortunately, the small mistake made at Turn 1 made him unable to continue the race.

"I really enjoyed the race, but a small calculation error cost me a result. However, I will take this experience forward," he said.

The racer from Magetan, East Java, previously had an encouraging start to the season when appearing in the opening series which took place in Thailand. He managed to bring home one point which made him optimistic about appearing in Argentina.

The 21-year-old admitted that he started racing in Argentina confidently. He tried his best and got the best results for a birthday present.

"The most valuable thing from today is the lesson I learned. Maybe this is the best birthday gift I can receive," he said.

The next race will take place at Circuit of the Americas (COTA), Austin, United States. The series is scheduled to take place on March 28-31, 2025.
