BPH Migas Predicts Pertalite Consumption To Increase By 11.7 Percent

JAKARTA - The Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) projects an increase in fuel consumption during the Eid al-Fitr 2025 period.

Head of BPH Migas, Erika Retnowati, said the increase occurred in RON 90 or Pertalite fuel at 11.7 percent, and RON 92 or Pertamax fuel at 11.2 percent.

On the other hand, BPH Migas also predicts that there will be a decrease in consumption in diesel fuel during the Eid al-Fitr period.

"BPH Migas sees a 16.2 percent decrease in daily consumption of Biosolar and an increase in Avtur daily consumption by 7.3 percent compared to normal conditions consumption," Erika said at the opening of the ESDM National Command Post, Monday, March 17.

Meanwhile, in terms of fuel stock resilience, Erika said that in general, she was in a safe condition in the range of 19 to 21 days.

To ensure energy availability during the homecoming and Eid al-Fitr period, the government together with Pertamina have prepared 40 LPG terminals, 731 SPBBE and 6,517 LPG agents.

In terms of natural gas availability, Erika said that Pertamina's Gas Subholding is committed to maintaining the safety and reliability of natural gas distribution to 5,800 commercial customers, 814,000 industries and small customers, and more than 33,000 km of gas pipelines.

Meanwhile, the electricity sector, he said, was recorded at 53,977 MW with a peak load of 33,517 MW so that power reserves were still available at 20,460 MW or 61.05 percent.

"It is predicted that there will be an increase in LNG gas distribution by 53.2 percent compared to the realization of RAFI in 2024. For BBG, it is predicted that there will be an increase of 4.3 percent when compared to the realization of raffi in 2024," explained Erika.
