Firli Bahuri's Third Pretrial Session Held March 19

JAKARTA - Former Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Firli Bahuri, has again filed a pretrial lawsuit for the third time regarding his determination as a suspect in the alleged extortion or acceptance of gratuities.

Based on the Case Investigation Information System (SIPP) of the South Jakarta District Court, Firli Bahuri's first trial of the lawsuit will be held on Wednesday, March 19.

"The first trial. Wednesday, March 19, 2025, from 10:00 to completion," the South Jakarta District Court said at SIPP, quoted Monday, March 17.

Firli Bahuri's lawsuit is known to be registered with number 42/Pid.Pra/2025/PN JKT.SEL. The defendant in the lawsuit is the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo cq Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Karyoto.

Firli Bahuri's attorney, Ian Iskandar, who was confirmed regarding the pretrial lawsuit stated that this step was taken to fight for justice. Because, for years the former chairman of the KPK has the status of a suspect.

"This pretrial legal effort is part of Mr. Firli's efforts to fight for his justice related to his suspect status for more than 1 year and 4 months," said Ian.

Meanwhile, Polda Metro Jaya, through the Director of Special Criminal Investigation, Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak, stated that he was ready to face the pretrial filed by Firli Bahuri.

"In principle, the investigative team through the Jakarta Metro Police Bidkum Advocacy team is very ready to face the pre-trial lawsuit," said Ade.

Ade believes that this lawsuit will be rejected by the judge. This is because a series of investigative activities to find and collect evidence related to the extortion case against Syahrul which then ensnared Firli had already been carried out.

In addition, investigations are also carried out in a professional, transparent, accountable manner, and free from all interventions and pressures.

"Even in the handling of the a quo case, the determination of the FB as a suspect is based on more than two valid pieces of evidence," said the former Solo Police Chief.

As a reminder, Firli Bahuri has filed three pretrial lawsuits. In the first pretrial lawsuit, the judge who tried the case decided not to accept it.

Then, Firli submitted his second application on January 22, 2024. However, a few days later, January 30, 2024, the pretrial application was withdrawn.
