Government Ensures Fuel Stock For Private Gas Stations Is Safe During Eid Al-Fitr

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) ensures that fuel stocks for private gas station service providers such as BP-AKR and Shell are in a safe condition during the Lebaran 2025 holiday period. This follows a shortage of supplies that occurred in early 2025.

Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Yuliot Tanjung, revealed that the government has given import permits to private business entities for the next 3 months.

"The availability of fuel stocks for private business entities, we have given permits to import fuel for a period of 3 months," said Yuliot at the BPH Migas Building, Monday, March 17.

Yuliot said the scarcity that occurred previously was due to obstacles in the administrative process so that for now the procurement of fuel for private gas stations is in a safe condition.

Not only for private gas stations, the safety of supply for state-owned enterprises, Pertamina, is in reliable and safe condition during the Eid al-Fitr period.

"So for that readiness is also the same, SOEs such as Pertamina can also provide community needs in the context of Eid homecoming," continued Yuliot.

Met on the same occasion, President Director of BP-AKR Vanda Laura said that his party had anticipated a surge in consumption and stock availability during the Eid period.

"For now, if we look at the stock security side, from our last shipment, it is sufficient until Eid," said Vanda.

Regarding the surge in consumption during Lebaran 2025, Vanda said that BP AKR estimates that fuel consumption in the DKI Jakarta area will indeed decline due to homecoming and holidays outside the city.

"But we think outside Jakarta will most likely increase. We can't confirm the numbers yet," said Vanda.
