Almost Two Weeks, Police Haven't Revealed The Death Of UKI Student Kenzha Walewangko
JAKARTA It's been almost two weeks, but the East Jakarta Metro Police have not succeeded in uncovering the cause of Kenzha Walewangko's death (22), a Physipol student at the Indonesian Christian University (UKI). The police admitted that they were still waiting for the autopsy results of the victim's body, which has yet to come out.
"The case is still under investigation. The autopsy results have not yet been released," said East Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Nicolas Ary Lilipaly, when confirmed by VOI on Monday, March 17, 2025.
The East Jakarta Metro Police Satreskrim also cannot confirm the cause of Kenzha Walewangko's scientifically Crime Investigation (SCI) death. "Wait for the results after maximizing the investigation," he added.
Dozens Of Witnesses Have Been Examined
In the investigation process, the East Jakarta Metro Police have examined 34 witnesses consisting of the UKI Hospital and other students. However, the expected results have not yet been obtained.
Meanwhile, Israeli Victory Walewangko, the victim's brother, stated that his family questioned the results of the autopsy that had not yet come out even though it had been almost two weeks.
"I am confused that the results of the autopsy on our younger brother who died being beaten have not come out. This has been going on for two weeks but there has been no information on the release of the autopsy results," he told reporters.
Victory demands the police to work professionally and transparently. In fact, the family is ready if Kenzha's grave needs to be dismantled to reveal the real facts.
"Here the family is also worried that the autopsy results will be engineered," he added.

The case of Kenzha Walewangko's death that occurred within the UKI campus area has also caught the attention of the National Police Commission (Kompolnas). Kompolnas Commissioner Yusuf Warsyim stated that his party would directly monitor the investigation of this case at the East Jakarta Metro Police.
"We will pay attention, Kompolnas will monitor directly to the East Jakarta Police," said Yusuf. According to him, Kompolnas will ask for validation from investigators regarding the development of cases that have become a public spotlight to the national level.
"The media coverage is quite massive, so this is a prominent case. We will ask for clarification, what is the process, whether it has entered the investigation stage or not. This is what we ask for clarification, we encourage the handling as effective as possible, of course professional, transparent, and accountable," explained Yusuf.
