Jakarta Standby 112 Receives Thousands Of Emergency Calls, Ambulance Becomes The Most
JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) recorded as many as 637,292 incoming calls to Jakarta Siaga 112 services throughout 2024.
Jakarta Alert 112 is an emergency call service for the DKI Provincial Government to provide a quick response to emergency situations, such as natural disasters and other crisis conditions.
Head of the DKI Jakarta BPBD Data and Information Center (Pusdatin) Mohamad Yohan said, of the hundreds of thousands of calls, 6,317 connected calls had emergency status.
"The most emergency service calls are because they need an ambulance with 2,607 calls," Yohan told reporters, Monday, March 17.
Then, other problems reported in service 112 were cases of 736 calls, 735 calls of fire, 634 call of wild animals, and 446 social conflicts.
In addition to emergency calls, as many as 110,788 incoming calls were classified as non-emergency calls. Then, as many as 114,863 fad or prank calls, and 370,817 calls were cut off while the connection was still ongoing.
Yohan then why the prank call to the Jakarta Alert 112 service can happen a lot. Service 112 is a pulse-free call. Even without a SIM card attached to the cellphone, call 112 can still be connected.
Although not followed up, Yohan regretted the many prank calls that were included in the Jakarta Alert service.
"Prank calls are not continued, but the duration of time is wasted and sorry for those who queue to be served by call center 112," said Yohan.
Meanwhile, of the total 637,292 calls to service 112, 632,785 were connected and 4,507 calls were cut off before connecting.

The highest number of calls to service 112 occurred in March with 85,758 calls. East Jakarta is the area with the most calls in Jakarta.
"The percentage of calls per city area in East Jakarta is 26 percent, South Jakarta is 23 percent, West Jakarta is 21 percent, Central Jakarta is 15 percent, and North Jakarta is 15 percent," he added.
