Today The House Of Representatives Continues To Discuss The Revision Of The TNI Law
JAKARTA - The DPR's working committee (Panja) will continue to discuss the revision of Law Number 34 of 2004 concerning the Indonesian National Army (UU TNI) at the parliament complex, Senayan, Jakarta on Monday 17 March.
"Monday will be discussed again in parliament," said Member of Commission I of the House of Representatives Amelia Anggraini, last Sunday.
This discussion is a continuation of the consignment carried out by the Panja for the revision of the TNI Law with the government on March 14-15, 2025 at a hotel in the Senayan area, Jakarta.
According to Amelia, the discussion will prioritize the principle of civil supremacy, while still accommodating the aspirations of the people in the revision of the TNI Law.
"This law continues to prioritize civil supremacy. The DPR and the government are very accommodating in accommodating the aspirations of the community so there is nothing to worry about," he said.
Previously, Member of Commission I DPR TB Hasanuddin said 40 percent of the 92 problem inventory lists (DIM) in the revision of the TNI Law had been discussed since March 14, 2025.
"The discussion includes the retirement age, the position of soldiers, and positions that can be filled by active members of the TNI in ministries or institutions," he said.
Demands for transparency from the Civil Society On the other hand, the Civil Society Coalition for the Security Sector Reform requested that discussions on the revision of the TNI Law be carried out openly.
"This discussion is not appropriate because it is carried out behind closed doors," said Deputy Coordinator of the Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence (Kontras) Andrie Yunus.
This coalition considers closed discussion to be contrary to the principles of transparency and public participation.
