495 Residents' Houses Damaged By Floods And Landslides In Padangsidimpuan
NORTH Sumatra - Floods and landslides that occurred in Padangsidimpuan City had a serious impact. The North Sumatra Disaster Management Operations Control Center (Pusdalops PB) reported that at least 495 houses were damaged by overflowing water sweeps.
Based on a report received by ANTARA in Medan, Sunday, hundreds of houses damaged by floods and landslides that occurred on Thursday, March 13, were categorized as damage levels.
Pusdalops PB North Sumatra noted that 164 units or more of the moderate damage were recorded at 103 units. While the category of light damage was recorded at most compared to the two categories or reached 228 houses.
In addition, floods and landslides that hit six sub-districts and dozens of sub-districts and villages also caused moderately damaged and lightly damaged schools and houses of worship one moderately damaged and also one lightly damaged.
The six sub-districts that were affected by the disaster were North Padangsidimpuan, South Padangsidimpuan, Padangsidimpuan Batunadua, Padangsidimpuan Angkola Julu, Padangsidimpuan Tenggara, and Hutaimbru.
Meanwhile, the affected sub-districts or villages are Sadabuan Village, Tobat Village, and Kantin Village in North Padangsidimpuan District. Then Ujung Padang Village, Aek Tampang Village, Lolung Village, Sitamiang Baru Village in South Padangsidimpuan District, then Gang Otoa Yana, Gang Salak Permai, Gang Date, Libers Alley - Batunadua Julu Village in Padangsidimpuan Batunadua District.

Head of the Emergency, Equipment and Logistics Handling Division of the North Sumatra Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Sri Wahyuni Pancasilawati said the data was temporary data that came from the North Sumatra PB Pusdasdalops.
Yuyun, as he is familiarly called, said that the local BPBD had made efforts to handle it involving relevant policy makers.
"The related parties have conducted an initial assessment of the disaster incident at the disaster site, evacuated people affected by the flood and carried out SAR operations on missing victims," he said.
In addition, he added that related parties also fulfill basic needs for disaster-affected communities, carry out planning, determination of operational plans, and evaluation of emergency handling, and establish command posts.
His party also assisted the disaster emergency response and postalization command system and lowered human resources at the disaster site.
"Based on reports, the water level has dropped dramatically in six sub-districts and the community is supported by local governments and volunteers to clean up materials due to flooding," he said.
