Electric Vehicle Industry Association Declared At IIMS, Moeldoko Becomes Its General Chairman

JAKARTA - In response to Presidential Regulation Number 55 of 2019 concerning the Acceleration of the Battery-Based Electric Motor Vehicle (KBLBB) Program, electric vehicle entrepreneurs in Indonesia formed an association called the Indonesian Electric Vehicle Industry Association (Periklindo) which was declared at the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) Hybrid 2021 event, Sunday, April 25.

Serving as the General Chairman is Moeldoko who is also a representative of PT Mobil Anak Bangsa (MAB). Moeldoko said that this association could become a forum for electric vehicle entrepreneurs in Indonesia to convey their aspirations for the government.

"We want friends who are involved in the electric car industry to have a gathering place, and hopefully it will become an association that can provide input to the government on how to use electric cars arranged in the future," said the General Chairman of Periklindo Moeldoko as reported by Antara, Monday, April 26.

In addition, he also hopes that this forum will also be a funnel for information for the government regarding industry and technology trends for electric vehicles in the world.

"The second is so that if there are various technological developments between us, we will understand each other," said Moeldoko.

In this case, Periklindo is an initiation from automotive industry players who care about the development of KBLBB and support the government towards a new era, namely environmentally-friendly electric vehicles.

As Chairman, Moeldoko is also assisted by people who are experienced in the field of electric vehicles, such as Tenggono Chuandra Phoa from Wuling Motors Indonesia, who served as general secretary, and Cing Hok from DFSK as treasurer.

The process of educating the public as vehicle users is also very much needed. For this reason, it is hoped that Periklindo can bridge various parties so that the hope of creating an electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia will develop properly and provide maximum effect.

"Periklindo has the enthusiasm to play an active role in the development of the electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia, both from vehicles, the information needed by all parties, to education for the public, and it is hoped that it can make a real contribution and accelerate the development of electric vehicles which are also supported by the government," explained Moeldoko.

The presence of electric vehicles in Indonesia needs to be accelerated in order to get the many benefits that can be obtained, ranging from environmentally friendly vehicles without carbon emissions of exhaust gas to national energy security.

In addition, the presence of KBLBB is very efficient in terms of costs for its users because it has minimal maintenance costs, and charging electrical energy is relatively cheaper than buying fuel oil (BBM).
