Psychologist Warns Baim Wong After Calling Paula Verhoeven Manipulative
JAKARTA - The feud between Baim Wong and Paula Verhoeven is heating up in the midst of their divorce process. Recently, a video uploaded by Paula Verhoeven has become a public spotlight.
In the video, their child's cry can be heard asking his mother to stay away, for fear of being scolded by Baim Wong.
Responding to the video circulating, Baim Wong denied accusations of deliberately indoctriting children to hate Paula. Baim accused Paula of being manipulative after sharing the video on Instagram.
In his statement, Baim Wong emphasized that he has evidence that can prove that he always tries to maintain his children's relationship with his mother.
"I will prove it, and I will give you the evidence. Why? He is manipulative all of them by saying (so)," Baim Wong said at the South Jakarta Religious Court on Wednesday, March 12.
Baim also claims he always tries to keep their children from meeting Paula. He felt that the video published by Paula did not reflect his true condition.
Baim Wong's statement accusing Paula Verhoeven of being a manipulative figure also received attention from psychologist Lita Gading. Lita warned Baim to be more careful in speaking, especially the term manipulative has a deep psychological meaning.
"Baim Wong leads the opinion that Paula Verhoeven is manipulative. Baim, be careful you talk," said Lita, quoted by VOI from the TikTok account @litagading5 on Saturday, March 15.
Lita explained that manipulative is a behavior that aims to influence others in a cunning way. In the world of psychology, manipulative properties can be categorized as mental disorders.
"The term manipulativeity leads people or people's attitudes to influence in a cunning way. Manipulative can be a mental disorder. You (Baim Wong) lead public opinion there," he explained.
Furthermore, Lita Gading highlighted the impact of the accusations on child custody in the divorce trial. According to him, if someone is proven to have a mental disorder, it can weaken custody as a parent.
"So you (Baim) should not lead opinions to mental disorders," said Lita.
He also explained that there are two main factors that can affect child custody in court. First, mental disorders that can be in the form of personality disorders or other clinical disorders. However, this condition must be proven through psychological tests. Second, allegations of infidelity, which must also be accompanied by strong evidence in court.
In this case, Lita highlighted Baim Wong who accused Paula of having an affair and must be able to prove her allegations legally, not just lead public opinion to weaken Paula's position.
Regarding Baim Wong's accusation that Paula was manipulative, Lita Gading considered the allegations baseless.
"So, for example, it is not accompanied by people who do not understand psychology, this is unfair. Never lead Paula to be manipulative. This is unfair. I will oversee this case," he said.
Lita said if Baim wanted to prove the charges of infidelity against Paula, then he had to do it in a right and fair way.
"He (Paula) has the right to speak, has the right to care for children. So if you accuse Paula of cheating, you prove the affair in a really fair way." he concluded.
