KPK Urges Officials To Dare To Reject Gratification During Eid Al-Fitr
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) reminded officials to refuse or report receiving gratuities during the Eid al-Fitr. They are also prohibited from asking for holiday allowances (THR) from the public to companies.
"We urge all state civil servants and state officials to firmly reject and report all forms of gratuity receipts at the first opportunity," said KPK Spokesperson Team Budi Prasetyo to reporters in a written statement quoted on Saturday, March 15.
This appeal is called Budi as stated in the Circular Letter of the Chairperson of the KPK Number 7 of 2025 concerning the Prevention and Control of Gratification Related to Hari Raya.
"KPK reminds ASN and PN to reject gratuities related to positions and contrary to their obligations or duties, especially in the context of celebrating Eid al-Fitr 1446 Hijri," he said.
The KPK also reminded ASN and state administrators not to ask for THR or allocation at any price. This is because this act has the potential to cause conflicts of interest, contrary to regulations and code of ethics and has the risk of corruption.
"On the other hand, the leadership of associations/companies/communities is also expected to take preventive measures by urging members not to provide and/or receive gratuities that have the potential for bribery, pelicin money, or bribery in other forms," said Budi.
If officials cannot refuse the granting of gratuities, the reporting must be carried out immediately. They have 30 working days to convey it to the KPK," said Budi.
