Experts Express Risk Behind Epsom's Salt Bath Mixes Meghan Markle
JAKARTA - Meghan Markle has received criticism after releasing the cooking series With Love, Meghan, which aired on Netflix.
In the premiere episode series 'Hello Honey', Meghan is mixing bath salt for her best friend who is a makeup artist, Daniel Martin.
Meghan mixes it using epsom salt with essential oil. But beauticians criticize Meghan's bath salt prescription.
He warned the mixture could be harmful to the skin.
Jennifer Christopherson, an experienced beauty expert and YouTuber, expressed her concern. Jennifer warns people not to try the recipe.
"Don't try it. I'm not sure Meghan understands the risks," he said, quoted by VOI from Mirror, Saturday, March 15.
In the recipe, Meghan mixes epsom salt, healaya salt, ARnica oil, and lavender oil without a clear dose.
When the crew asked how much salt it needed, he simply replied, ' QUITE a lot'. This shows that Meghan is just guessing.
Meghan added three drops of lavender oil and two full pipette suctions filled with arnica oil into the mixture, without dilution first.
In fact, it is not recommended to use that much essential oil.
In addition, essential oil should be diluted in advance with other ingredients, such as coconut oil, jojoba, or grapeseed to prevent skin irritation. However, Meghan seems to ignore this rule.
Jennifer was surprised by the amount of ARnica oil Meghan used and called it excessive use.
He felt uncomfortable watching the scene and emphasized that essential oils, which are not regulated for use, can cause skin irritation if used carelessly.
"You can't just mix essential oils, then give it to someone else, and hope everything is fine." he said.
In addition to health problems, the audience also criticized Meghan for wearing all-white clothes while cooking tomato paste and trying to serve snacks from shops that seem to be homemade.
This further sparked a debate about the authenticity of the cooking series.
