Budi Waseso's Breakthrough: The Head Of BNN Who Wants To Build A Special Narcotics Prison Is Guarded By Crocodiles
JAKARTA - Drugs and illegal drugs are often a threat to the next generation of the nation. Illegal goods are available everywhere. Bejibun dealer. Addicts, let alone. The government itself does not remain silent. They continue to fight drug trafficking, but not optimally.
New hope emerged when Police General Budi Waseso (Buwas) became Head of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN). His commitment was to break the chain of brilliant drug trafficking. However, there is also controversy. He is scheduled to build a special prison for drug prisoners guarded by crocodiles.
The government's commitment to fighting drug trafficking from methamphetamine to marijuana continues to light up. Every day law enforcement officers continue to pursue those affiliated with drug dealers. Even though it is not optimal.
President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) admitted it. He then tried to strengthen BNN. He replaced the BNN leader from Anang Iskandar with Buwas on September 8, 2015. At first Buwas' position was criticized.
The figure of the police general is considered to have no flashy achievements in his previous position, the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police Headquarters. Jokowi doesn't care. Jokowi thinks Buwas can reduce the number of drug abuses in Indonesia. Buwas was also met with new challenges.
BNN's tools are not as sophisticated as the Police. Another problem is that the development of BNN cannot be carried out immediately. Limited funds are the problem. Buwas immediately moved to carry out his actions to break the chain of drug trafficking within limitations.
The action was not easy. However, Buwas continues to work hard to provide evidence. Buwas also began to bring BNN to actively conduct raids to nightclubs. He also tried to form a special team to arrest big drug dealers.
Buwas also tried to open a space to maintain cooperation between institutions. The goal is that drug affairs can be taken care of from matters of abuse to control.
"This hope is of course with Komjen Pol Budi Waseso. Managerial ability, qualified and strong leadership. Aware of the eradication of narcotics must be serious.
"Strengthen coordination and cooperation, hopefully BNN will continue to exist to lead to a drug-free Indonesia. BNN has a noble duty in preventing, eradicating, taking action, and rehab," said National Police Chief Badrodin Haiti as quoted on the OKezone.com page, September 8, 2015.
Prison image is unable to provide important lessons for drug dealers, it is common knowledge. In fact, some of them are considered to be able to run a drug business from prison. This condition is because prisons are usually considered unable to control the practice of bribery.
Buwas also understands this very well. He, who has just become the Head of BNN, actually made the President of the Philippines in the 2016-2022 era, Rodrigo Duterte a role model in the fight against drug dealers. He wants the same spirit to occur in the fight against drug trafficking in Indonesia.
However, Buwas doesn't want to be as harsh as Duterte. He had other ideas. He considers drug dealers to be separated from prisoners of other problems. Buwas has the idea of building special drug prisons on remote islands like Kangean under super tight supervision.
There will also be on remote islands in Sulawesi, Papua, to Maluku. The prisons will later be guarded by a variety of wild crocodiles. The idea is not just a sound. Buwas himself has sent a team to see remote islands that will become prisons.
He felt that involving wild animals was a brilliant idea. Because crocodiles cannot be bribed. Moreover, the problem of breaking the chain of drug trafficking has become the government's important focus. The government also does not need to worry about dealing with drug dealers who will run their illicit businesses from prison. The guard is certainly super tight.

The Ministry of Law and Human Rights has also heard the idea of Buwas to be studied. Buwas also admitted that he had the blessing of Jokowi to build a crocodile-guarded prison. All representatives of the people in Senayan agreed with Buwas' idea.
They consider the construction of special prisons for drugs to have many benefits, rather than harm. If necessary and indeed need crocodile breeding, it can be made around the prison so that the government doesn't bother looking for crocodiles.
Support does flow. However, there are not a few criticisms for Buwas' idea. They think Buwas is better off using funds to build prisons and then diverted them to other things. Take for example building a drug rehabilitation center. Recently, the idea of a buwas crocodile prison has never been realized.
"I'm looking for a wild crocodile, then piranese and tigers. Later, the prison will be surrounded by a river of crocodiles in the first ring, then a river of pyrochemese and finally a tiger. If it was looking after the crocodile, how could it be bribed?"
"This is solely to save the younger generation and the nation is not destroyed because of the behavior of the drug dealers. Now this plan is being evaluated with the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs so that it can run later. The team has seen Kangean and assessed that there is a special prison for drug dealers," he said. buwas as quoted by the CNN Indonesia website, November 29, 2015.
