KAI Logistics Targets Delivery Of 22 Trains To Sumatra To Be Completed March 17
JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Logistik (KAI Logistik) ensures that the delivery of 22 train units to Sumatra can be completed on March 17, 2025. This is to support the improvement of transportation services and ensure equal and affordable access for people in the area.
"The delivery is carried out in stages from the Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT) to Rejosari Station, Lampung, and Bukit Putus Station, Padang, with a target of completion on March 17, 2025," said KAI Logistics Operations Director Heri Siswanto quoting Antara.
KAI Logistik stated that the shipment of 22 trains with a total weight of 836 tons belonging to PT KAI (Persero) with a delivery route from Java to Sumatra began in early March.
The trains sent came from various regions in Java, including Bandung, Semarang, Sidoarjo, Solo, Purwokerto, Malang, to Banyuwangi.
A total of seven units of K3 (economic train) and three units of KMP2/MP2 (generating train) were sent to Lampung, while 10 units of K3 (economic train) and two units of KMP3 (generating train) will be sent to Padang.
"This transportation is carried out by taking into account security and safety standards, considering the weight of each train is quite large," said Heri.
He said that the delivery of the 22 trains was a strategic step for the parent company to support the improvement and strengthening of the mobility of passenger transportation in the Sumatra region, especially in Divre 2, West Sumatra and Divre 4 Tanjungkarang before entering the momentum of Eid.
