Ormas Often Disrupts Factory Operations, Chandra Asri Responds Like This
JAKARTA - Industry players in Indonesia still face challenges in operating their businesses.
One of the disturbances is the request for holiday allowances (THR) which is often submitted by community organizations (ormas) to industry players.
As one of the industry players, the Director of Legal Affairs, External Affairs & Circular Economy of PT Chandra Asri Pacific Tbk Edi Rivai did not deny the many movements of mass organizations that often interfere with factory operations.
"In essence, what we hope is legal certainty, certainty of business. So, activities are not disrupted," said Edi in the agenda of Opportunities and Challenges of the Chemical Industry as a National Strategic Project in Encouraging Economic Growth in Jakarta, Friday, March 14.
According to Edi, this mass organization phenomenon is found in several locations.
Their number is also increasing because the requirements to form community organizations are quite easy.

Edi emphasized that industry players need legal certainty and business, including being free from extortion of mass organizations. Thus, factory operations run more smoothly.
To overcome the problem of mass organizations, said Edi, one of the efforts that industry players can do is to add security officers and coordinate with the police.
"I think this is the importance of coordinating with the security forces, the police to curb this. So, we work with focus and are not hindered by this and investors are also willing to enter," he concluded.
