The Indonesian U-17 National Team Prepared For Intens Before Appearing In The 2025 U-17 Asian Cup

The U-17 Indonesian national team will undergo an intensive training program before appearing in the 2025 U-17 Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia.

Not only training, Nova Arianto's team is also planning several international trials.

PSSI General Chair (Ketum) Erick Thohir revealed plans for the departure of the Garuda Nusantara squad to the United Arab Emirates with the coach, Nova Arianto, for the intensive exercise.

Arriving at the location, the U-17 Indonesian national team will also undergo a training camp and two trials.

"For information, the plan is for the U-17 Indonesian national team to depart on the 15th (March 2025) night, almost early in the 16th (March 2025) to start training centers in the United Arab Emirates (UAE)," said Erick Thohir on Friday, March 14, 2025.

"There is a plan for the 20th (March 2025) to fight the team from China, then the 26th (March 2025) against the UAE team. Then, go again to prepare for the 2025 U-17 Asian Cup, yes, we did come early," he said again.

Currently, there are 30 players who have attended the training camp. Later there will be seven players who will be eliminated or only 23 names will be brought to Saudi Arabia.

The 2025 U-17 Asian Cup will take place in Saudi Arabia on April 3-20, 2025. The U-17 Indonesian national team is in Group C with South Korea U-17, Yemen U-17, and Afghanistan U-17.

The 2025 U-17 Asian Cup is also a qualifying event to appear in the 2025 U-17 World Cup in Qatar. To qualify for that phase, only eight teams got tickets.

This means that Garuda Nusantara needs to qualify from the group stage to get tickets to the 2025 U-17 World Cup.

"Indeed, the target is the same, if we can, we can penetrate the 2025 U-17 World Cup. The only way is for eight teams to qualify for the 2025 U-17 World Cup," said the PSSI Chairman.
