Mazda MX-5 35th Anniversary Does Not Have A Manual Transmission Choice, This Is The Reason
JAKARTA - Mazda's single brand holder (ATPM) agent in Indonesia, PT Eurokars Motor Indonesia (EMI) officially launched MX-5 35th Anniversary as a celebration of the presence of this legendary roadster since 1989.
Different from the standard version, the car displays a more charming form with an exterior color choice of Red Metallic Artists.
In addition, the special nuanced model has good elements including a cream soft top roof that features a elegant impression with 17-inch rims with bright finishing.
Offering a different driving pleasure, this special edition is only available in six-acceleration automatic transmission options. However, the company has its own reasons for having only two pedals.
PT EMI's Chief Operating Officer, Ricky Thio, said the reason for the absence of manual transmission was because Mazda, based in Japan, only offered automatic options.
"There is no manual, because it is from such a principle," Ricky said when met by the media in Simprug, Jakarta, Friday, March 14.

He also revealed that all units of MX-5 35th Anniversary launched around the world do not provide a single three- pedal option.
"From global, it's also automatic, we don't provide manuals," added Ricky.
Nonetheless, the car promises different driving elements thanks to the 50:50 weight distribution, double wishbone dispensation at the front and multi-link at the back, lower sitting position, and precision steering system.
Although special and different, Mazda maintains a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder engine on this MX-5. Its heart can produce 181 hp and 205 Nm torques combined with six acceleration or automatic manual transmission.
In the Indonesian market, PT EMI officially sells MX-5 35th Anniversary with a price tag of Rp973.3 million On The Road Jakarta.
