On Birthday, Wife And Child Killer In Malaysia Sentenced To Death
JAKARTA - Satvender Singh must accept the reality for his actions right on his 39th birthday (ultah). The truck driver who killed his wife and biological child was awarded the death penalty of the Malaysian Federal Court.
Judge Rhodzariah stated that the Federal Court's judges had unanimously decided to reimpose the initial decision of the Shah Alam High Court to sentence him to death given the severity of the Satvender's crime.
"He is the last person to be seen with the victims, as confirmed by his close neighbor's testimony," Rhodzariah said in a verdict hearing that took place today, Friday, March 14, quoted from Bernama.
Rhodzariah added that the Federal Court agreed with the findings of the High Court that the Satvender had engineered the crime scene (TKP) to cover up the murder incident.
The High Court noted that the two victims were found close to dying of asphyksia. Evidence shows that the pillow has been used by the perpetrator to strangled the baby when he was drinking milk.

In August 2021, the High Court sentenced Satvender to death after the murder of his wife, D Kamaljit, 34, and his second baby girl, Ishilyn Kaur Sandhu. The murder took place at a house in Taman Rawang Perdana 2, Rawang, Malaysia between 03.55 and 04.15 on April 14, 2016.
However, in November 2024, the Court of Appeal canceled the Supreme Court's death sentence by imposing a 20-year prison sentence on the Satvender.
Responding to him, the Public Prosecutor (JPU) appealed the decision to the Federal Court. Meanwhile, the Satvender filed a cross-match requesting the release of the murder charges. However, the Satvender appeal was rejected today.
Satvender's lawyer, Rajpal Singh, hopes that the court will turn his client's death sentence into prison sentence by citing the Law on the Elimination of the 2023 Mandatory Death Penalty.
Rajpal asked the court to consider this considering that his client had never been involved in a crime before this incident and had served eight years in prison. He also added that today is the anniversary of the Satvender.
However, Deputy Public Prosecutor Noorhisham Mohd Jaafar still emphasized that Satvender should be sentenced to death in accordance with his actions against his legal wife and seven-month-old son.
