17 Vehicles Involved In Accident In Texas Austin, 5 People Died

JAKARTA - Five people died after a collision involving dozens of vehicles and trucks in Texas, United States.

The accident occurred around 11:23 p.m., Thursday, March 13 local time. in Austin, Texas, at block 12.900 North IH, according to Captain Krista Stedman, Public Information Officer for Austin Travis County EMS.

Officers arrived at the scene and found many victims stuck in their vehicles. There were 17 victims in the accident involving 17 vehicles.

Five people were found dead at the scene -- including three adults, one child, and one baby. While the other 11 were taken to hospital, authorities continued. The names and conditions of those involved in the accident have not been released.

"This incident is very chaotic, and it spreads to about a tenth of a mile," Stedman said.

"We were able to evacuate all critical patients from the scene in about 40 minutes," he continued.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash but it may take some time to find out what really happened.
