Freeport Requests Export Permit Of 1.27 Million Copper Concentrat To Ministry Of Energy And Mineral Resources

PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) is known to export a copper concentrate of 1.27 million dry metric tons after obtaining an export permit from the government.

PTFI President Director Tony Wenas said that currently PTFI has submitted a proposal to the Directorate General of Mineral and Coal (Minerba) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources regarding the export amount until June 2025.

"Yes, it's still in process. Later from ESDM, we will decide," said Tony, quoted on Friday, March 14.

Tony said that currently his party has completed all the requirements submitted by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources to obtain a copper concentrate export license, including the approval of the revision of the Work Plan and Budget (RKAB). For this reason, PTFI is just waiting for the issuance of an export recommendation agreement from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

"Everything is complete. We have also fulfilled the requirements. The RKAB has also agreed to a revised revision. The HPE regulation (export benchmark price) has also been issued," explained Tony.

Meanwhile, regarding the estimated initial export time, Tony said he was just waiting for the issuance of an ESDM ministerial regulation (Permen) regarding export permits. On the other hand, Tony ensured that PTFI had prepared a copper concentrate carrier to be exported.

"As soon as we get our export permit directly (export). My ship is on standby," said Tony.
