Commission V Of The House Of Representatives Asks For Full Toll Tariff Discounts From March 24 To April 10

JAKARTA - Commission V DPR RI asked for a full discount on toll road rates from March 24 to April 10, 2025 to provide relief on travel costs for the community during the period of Eid homecoming and return to Lebaran 2025.

Deputy Chairman of Commission V DPR RI Ridwan Bae said that his party appreciated the government's move to provide a 20 percent discount on toll rates on the homecoming flow and backflow of Lebaran this year.

However, he also asked for the time to be extended, starting from March 24 to April 10, 2025.

"The policy proposal extends the toll tariff discount period to avoid accumulation of vehicles during homecoming and return flow on predetermined dates," said Ridwan.

Because, he said, it had been predicted that during the Lebaran homecoming period in 2025 there would be an increase in toll road users.

The legislator from the Southeast Sulawesi electoral district also requested that the toll tariff discount not only apply to the Trans-Java toll road, but to all toll roads in Indonesia.

Thus, continued Ridwan, people can benefit nationally, including reducing land travel costs during the Lebaran 2025 homecoming and as a form of compensation for upper toll road managers, the minimum toll road service standards have not been met.

"In addition, as a strategic step to unravel the density of traffic, encourage an increase in the tourism sector, and have a positive impact on regional economic turnover," said Ridwan.

Previously, the government planned to provide a discount on toll rates for people who went home for Lebaran 2025.

Tariffs on several toll roads will be discounted 20 percent at certain times. However, there is also an additional 30 percent discount on toll rates for certain toll road users.

The toll rate will be discounted 20 percent for six days at the time of homecoming and return flow. The 20 percent discount policy is enforced for 6 days, which is 4 days during homecoming on March 24-27 and 2 days during backflow on April 8-9.

Toll tariff discounts are given to make it easier and smooth during homecoming and backflow. PT Jasa Marga and PT Hutama Karya will impose these discounts on the toll roads they manage.

The discount applies to the Trans-Java Toll Road, such as the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, the Mohammaed Bin Zayed Toll Road (MBZ), the Palimanan-Kanci Toll Road, the Batang-Semarang Toll Road, and the Semarang ABC Toll Road.

This policy is expected to reduce traffic density and provide a more comfortable travel experience for toll road users during Lebaran 2025.
