Police Arrest Teenagers From Jakarta Train Carriage Burners At Tugu Jogja Station, Heartache Is Often Lowered Because They Don't Have Tickets
YOGYAKARTA - The Directorate of General Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) of the Yogyakarta Regional Police has arrested a man with the initials M (17) who is suspected of burning a spare train carriage (KA) parked at the Yogyakarta Tugu Station empilas.
"Based on the results of TKP processing and data collection, and supported by information from the DIY Regional Police Labfor, in this case the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation and Yogyakarta Police managed to secure one man," said Director of Criminal Investigation at the Yogyakarta Regional Police, Kombes Pol. Endriadi revealed that M, a resident of Jakarta, was arrested shortly after the incident in the Malioboro area on Wednesday (12/3).
He said that M's action was revealed referring to the results of the examination of surveillance camera (CCTV) footage in the station area in accordance with the results of the forensic laboratory (labfor), along with the examination of a number of witnesses.
"Everything is in line. The results of his statement are the result of our investigation as well. Well, when we secure it, we are waiting for the results of the forensic laboratory and the results of the examination," said Endiadi.
According to Endriadi, M was suspected of burning using cardboard paper that was turned on with matches.
"He put the paper that had been burned into the carriage through the side, then the fire burned the seats in the carriage," said Endriadi.
As a result, two executive train carriages and one premium train carriage caught fire.
He also revealed that M is a person with sensory disabilities, namely muteness, so investigators asked for the help of a sign interpreter for examination.
Based on the information obtained, M took the action because he felt hurt by PT KAI because he was often taken off the train because he did not have a ticket.
"The person concerned has had problems with KAI nine times. Because he has often taken the KAI train without a ticket," he explained.

According to reports by a number of station heads, M has traveled by train several times without tickets from 2023 to 2024 and is often deployed at various stations.
For his actions, he is now undergoing further examination, including a mental examination.
"Later we will conduct a mental examination. We are still submitting the person concerned to a psychiatrist for a survey for two weeks," said Endriadi.
Previously, three reserve train carriages (KA) who were parked at the Yogyakarta Tugu Station were burned on Wednesday (12/3) at around 06.44 WIB and the fire was successfully extinguished at 07.30 WIB.
