DPR Proposes Pertamina To Share Free Pertamax, Erick Thohir Says This
JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir opened his voice regarding the proposal of Member of Commission VI DPR RI, Mufti Anam for PT Pertamina (Persero) to distribute Pertamax fuel oil (BBM) for free.
The aim is proof of an apology to the public regarding the alleged corruption case in the management of crude oil imports and refinery products involving Pertamina.
Erick explained that there is a separate mechanism from the government in handling Pertamina cases.
He said all efforts to improve the company needed to be carried out with a study.
"Determine the existing mechanisms in the government, in the DPR, or in Pertamina, determine that there is a mechanism for itself. Of course, all of them also need to be studied," said Erick at the BUMN Ministry office, Jakarta, Wednesday, March 12.
Even so, Erick said that administrative improvements in Pertamina's body really needed to be done. However, it cannot be mixed with the handling of the impact of the legal process that is currently being handled.
"It is always conveyed by Mr. President Prabowo, the name of the corruption case must be followed up and we support it. What we have been protecting so far, of course, corruption cases and corporations should not only be seen as one unit," he said.
For example, continued Erick, the corruption case that has occurred at PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. He said that during the legal process at Garuda, the Ministry of SOEs encouraged the company's transformation separately.
According to Erick, this is successful with the current evidence that Garuda Indonesia can carry out the blessing and increase its aircraft fleet.
Erick said the company's transformation paid off because the Ministry of SOEs was also trying to make the company's restructuring run smoothly.
"Remember the Garuda case, right if Garuda failed to restructure, in the end we also don't have a plane now. Now the implications are back, if the number of planes is lacking, the ticket price will be expensive," said Erick.
Therefore, Erick emphasized that the repair process in SOEs must continue, even though there is a legal process that is ongoing.
"This is what we take care of together, so that the role of the corporation continues, whether there is an administrative improvement, it must, indeed depends. But don't let this actually hinder the corporate restructuring, or the improvements of the corporation itself," he said.

Listen to the aspirations of the community. I think it is true that to restore Pertamina's integrity they can replace it by giving Pertamax free for a year, or maybe a week, a month, or whatever Partamina can do," said Mufti in a hearing (RDP) of Commission VI of the DPR with Pertamina, Tuesday, March 11.
