Ministry Of Religion Susun Buku Besar Tentang Haji

Minister of Religion Nasaruddin Umar said his party was compiling a ledger on Hajj, so that it could serve as a guideline for organizing Hajj in accordance with statutory regulations.

"We are currently compiling it, so from the beginning of A to Z to the very detailed matter, it's kind of a holy book," Nasaruddin said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, March 12.

He said various issues discussed in the meeting related to Hajj would be included in the ledger.

"Hopefully it can be very helpful later, it doesn't start from scratch anymore because we just have to open which sheets have problems there," he said.

As for the meeting, the DPR together with the Ministry of Religion, the Hajj Organizing Body (BPH), and the Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH) discussed a number of issues, such as payment of Hajj costs, intensification of training for Hajj officers, tanazul or prioritizing return for pilgrims due to certain conditions, to about planes for pilgrims.

In addition, there are discussions about hajj dormitories that have not been completed, and catering management.

At the joint meeting, one member of Commission VIII DPR RI also asked the Ministry of Religion to immediately anticipate the discourse on age restrictions for pilgrims for a maximum of 90 years by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia which sparked concerns.

Responding to this, Minister of Religion Nasaruddin Umar said, when meeting with the Minister of Health of Saudi Arabia, he had expressed his hope that they would not limit the age of prospective pilgrims who would go to the Holy Land and should be determined based on health conditions, not age factors.

"We ask that the criteria that will be used as the subject later can be hajj in terms of health, not in terms of age," said the Minister of Religion.

The Minister of Religion said that if there were changes to the rules regarding the age limit for pilgrims, the Government of Saudi Arabia is expected to give Indonesia one year to disseminate information to the public.
