JAKARTA - The highest awards ceremony in the field of film, Academy Awards or Oscars will be held soon. This event is one of the most awaited by the audience, especially with the many nominees who have colored this year's event.

Various preparations were made, starting from announcing the nominations, the concept of the program, to expectations regarding the audience's response.

Date and Place

The 2021 Oscars will be held on Sunday, April 25 US time. For the first time, they chose Union Station over the Dolby Theater which had been the venue for the past few years.

Unlike other events, the Oscars will not be held virtually but directly. Therefore, producers Steven Soderbergh, Stacey Sher, and Jesse Collins announced that the nominees could attend the event.

They made sure Oscar prioritized the comfort and health of invited guests. "We treat the event like a film set where there is a COVID health test at the venue."

Pre-show

A pre-show event is an event that highlights previous year's event highlights, the red carpet session, and more outside of the top event. Especially for this year, Oscar will present a pre-show event featuring the Best Songs nominee who will sing live.

"Our plan for this year's event is to make it look like a film not a television show," Collins, Sher and Soderbergh said in a statement.

After the top event is over, Oscar: After Dark or the after show show. After Dark has a number of behind-the-scenes interviews and Oscar 2021's best moments.
