Perbasi Monitors 5 Heritage Players In The United States
JAKARTA The Indonesian Basketball Association (Perbasi) through the National Team Agency (BTN) is monitoring five Indonesian basketball players or heritage in the United States (US).
The General Chairperson of Perbasi, Budisatrio Dwijandono, confirmed the information when met by the media crew at Plaza Mandiri, Gatot Subroto, Jakarta, on Tuesday, March 11, 2025.
"DPP Perbasi through BTN has mapped the potential of heritage players or Indonesian descendants who can strengthen the Indonesian National Team in the future," he said.
These players have direct descendants from Indonesia, both from mother and father.

Currently, the administrative process for the players in question is being managed by a team that monitors directly there. However, the identity of the players so far has not been disclosed to the public.
Budi said that in addition to pursuing players of Indonesian descent, Perbasi will also try to accelerate the early childhood coaching program in order to prepare several important events in the future.
"This is one of our ways to develop basketball in Indonesia, through important programs, we want the players to be better at the international level," said Budi.
The program for the development of early childhood athletes is important because a number of international age groups will be ready to be held in Indonesia in the next four years.
The plan is that the program will be intensified throughout Indonesia through the Perbasi Regional Management Board (DPD) spread across many provinces.
Currently, Perbasi has signed host nations agreement (HNA) as the host of FIBA U-17 Women's Basketball World Cup 2028, FIBA U-19 Basketball World Cup 2029, FIBA U-16 Women's Basketball Asia Cup 2027, and FIBA U-18 Basketball Asia Cup 2028.
