NOC's Great Dream, Indonesia Hosts The Olympics
JAKARTA Indonesia hosting the Olympics is still the biggest dream of the Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI) or NOC Indonesia which has not yet been realized.
Chairman of NOC Indonesia, Raja Sapta Oktohari, in a birthday event with the theme "Red White Gala: 73rd NOC Indonesia Anniversary" in Jakarta, on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, WIB night, said that efforts to get Indonesia's status as an Olympic would continue to be pursued by his party.
"The journey is still long. We are well aware that the 73 years of the Indonesian Olympic Committee is in Indonesia, but it is not yet optimal to provide aspirations that have not been implemented, namely to host the Olympics," said Okto, Raja Sapta Oktohari's nickname.
Indonesia has been taking an active role in the Olympics since it first participated in the event in 1952 in Helsinki. After that, Indonesia was recorded as only absent twice due to political tensions.

However, Indonesia still needs a long process to be able to host the Olympics. One of them is targeting the 2030 edition of the Youth Olympic Games.
Okto said that his party had also carried out the first bidding process for the 2030 Youth Olympic Games. The bidding was carried out before attending the NOC Indonesia birthday event.
"We are quite sure that it is supported by the people of Indonesia, supported by the government, especially. God willing, Indonesia can gain the trust to host the 2030 Youth Olympic in Jakarta," he said.
Indonesia already has experience holding great multi-events. One of them is the 2018 Asian Games which took place in Jakarta and Palembang.
In addition to multi-events, Indonesia has often been entrusted with holding single events. This experience made Indonesia's chances of hosting the Olympics open even though not in the near future.
