Called Patrick Kluivert, Ernando Ari Focuses On Persebaya Before The Indonesian National Team

JAKARTA - Ernando Ari Sutaryadi is on the call list to the Indonesian national team under the new coach, Patrick Kluivert.

However, before carrying out state duties, Ernando chose to fully focus on appearing to defend his club, Persebaya Surabaya.

Ernando will compete with other goalkeepers in the Indonesian national team such as Maarten Paes (FC Dallas), Nadeo Argawinata (Borneo FC), and Emil Audero who have just completed naturalization.

These names will be chosen to then be brought to the 2026 World Qualification match of the Asian Zone against Australia (20 March 2025) and Bahrain (25 March 2025).

Regarding the summons to the Indonesian national team, Ernando Ari expressed enthusiasm and optimism. However, on the other hand, the 23-year-old goalkeeper admitted that he would first put his full focus on Persebaya.

The reason is, before entering the international break this month, Bajul Ijo still has to play the last match of Liga 1 2024/2025 against PSIS Semarang on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, evening WIB.

"Now I will first focus on the Persebaya team, after that to the Indonesian national team. This (in Liga 1) is approaching the match against PSIS," said Ernando Ari in a statement quoted on Wednesday, March 12, 2025.

On the other hand, the Persebaya coach, Paul Munster, also responded positively to Ernando Ari's summons to the Indonesian national team.

The Irish coach agrees that his team must first focus on Persebaya until the match against PSIS is over.

"It is very good that he (Ernando Ari) was summoned to the Indonesian national team. However, for now, the focus is on Persebaya until the match against PSIS," said Paul Munster.

"I hope he gives his best for the Indonesian national team, but now fully focus on Persebaya," he said.
