Three Train Carriages Burned At Tugu Station, Police Investigate The Cause
YOGYAKARTA- Yogyakarta Police involved the Forensic Laboratory Team (Labfor) and the Indonesia Automatic Fingerprint Identification System (Inafis) to investigate the cause of the fire of three reserve train carriages (KA) at the Yogyakarta Tugu Station assembly, Wednesday, March 12 morning.
Yogyakarta Police Chief Kombes Pol Aditya Surya Dharma said that the Inafis Team was still working at the scene.
"So our focus is on finding the cause of the fire related to this incident. Our Inafis unit is still working, and we have asked for laboratory assistance to further explore it," Aditya said as quoted by ANTARA.
He revealed that until now, his party had not been able to confirm which carriages the fire had first appeared.
He also could not confirm the possibility of technical errors or other factors in the incident.
"Later, the laboratory results will find out whether this fire was caused by a technical error or there were other factors," he added.
When asked whether the location of the carriage's parking was sterile from human activity at night, Aditya emphasized that the area should be in a safe condition and there should be no activity.
"Yes, there should have been no activity, because this is the location of the carriage parking," he said.
He also emphasized that his party would try as quickly as possible to uncover the cause of this fire.
"As soon as possible, we will reveal the cause. We are trying our best," he said.
Previously, three reserve train carriages (KA) who were in a stable position or parked in the Yogyakarta Tugu Station were burned on Wednesday (12/3) at around 06.44 WIB and were successfully extinguished at 07.30 WIB.
