KAI Shortens COVID-19 Long Distance Travel Test Time To 1x24 Hours
JAKARTA - PT KAI (Persero) has shortened the validity period of the COVID-19 free test, both rapid tests, PCR and antigen to a maximum of only 1x24 hours. This rule is a new requirement for long-distance rail (KAJJ) travel.
This rule applies to departures from Saturday, April 24 to May 5, 2021 and May 18 to May 24, 2021. For negative results GeNose C19 the validity period remains 1x24 hours.
"With this policy, Daop 1 Jakarta urges users who will depart from Gambir Station and Pasar Senen to manage their travel time properly," said the Head of Public Relations of PT KAI Daop 1 Jakarta Eva Chairunisa in a written statement.
Previously, the validity period for COVID-19 free tests, both rapid tests, PCR and antigen, was a maximum of 3x24 hours. The change in the validity period of the COVID-19 test is in line with the tightening of travel requirements implemented by the COVID-19 Handling Task Force in an effort to control transportation before, during, and after the 2021 homecoming ban.
Eva appealed that if passengers choose to take a GeNose or Rapid Antigen test at the station, they are expected not to carry out the process at an hour close to the time of departure.
In the Daop 1 Jakarta area, there are 3 stations that have COVID-19 inspection services for train passengers, including Gambir Station and Pasar Senen which have GeNose Test and Rapid Antigen services.
In addition, Bekasi Station also serves GeNose Test. There is also this service available every day at stations from 07.00 WIB to 19.00 WIB.
Regarding the departure of service users from the Daop 1 Jakarta area such as Pasar Senen and Gambir Stations, this week it was observed to be normal or there was no surge.
This can be seen from the number of train trips operating the same as the previous week. For example, on Saturday, April 24, there were 15 trains departing from Pasar Senen Station with an average volume based on ticket booking data while at 10.00 WIB there were around 3,100 passengers.
Gambir Station dispatched 13 trains with an average volume based on data on temporary ticket bookings at 10.00 WIB, namely around 1,800 passengers.
