DKI Provincial Government Budgets IDR 3 Billion For 10 Days Of Weather Modification

Chairman of the BPBD Control and Operations Subgroup, Muhamad Thoufiq Hidayatuloh, said that the budget to be disbursed for OMC this time reached Rp3 billion.

"The budget for the implementation of the phase 3 weather modification operation is around Rp. 3 billion for 10 days," said Youufiq in a short message, Wednesday, March 12.

This year, the DKI Provincial Government has carried out two stages of weather modification operations, namely in early February and mid-February 2025. In the third phase this time, weather modifications were carried out with 25 flight sorties.

"The operation for 10 days was carried out with 20,000 kilograms of material from NaCl. The flight used the 212 casa plane belonging to the Squadron 4 of the Indonesian Air Force along with the pilot and support crew," said Thoufiq.

The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) previously said that the potential for rain cloud growth on March 11, 2025 was observed to be quite significant, with relative humidity (RH) in the 3,000-foot layer still quite high.

"This OMC implementation was also carried out by BNPB through a post at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base and West Java Province BPBD through a post at Husein Sastranegara Air Base," said Budi.
