PLN Officers' Efforts To Ensure Reliable Electricity In Pa Upan Krayan Kaltara
NUNUKAN PLN is committed to maintaining the availability of electricity supply to remote areas. The quite challenging terrain in the Krayan Plateau, Nunukan, North Kalimantan, did not dampen PLN's steps in presenting reliable electricity supplies.
PLN Manager of the Customer Service Unit (ULP) Nunukan Rendra Alfian Raharjo said that the current condition of fuel supply at PLTD Pa Upan is sufficient for the next two days so that electricity supply to customers is still maintained.
"Currently, the process of sending fuel that was sent 2 days ago is estimated to have arrived at Pa Upan tonight, thus increasing the day of operation for the generator to supply for the next 12 days of diving," said Rendra, Tuesday, March 11.
The condition of the road field which is quite heavy results in the delivery of fuel which is usually 2 days to 3 to 4 days.
There was road damage at 3 points on the border between Lembududud and Long Layu.
"A number of bridges were also reported to have washed away due to flooding which resulted in access between villages in Krayan being completely cut off. In addition, access from Malinau to Krayan was also badly damaged due to bad weather," he said.
As a result, this condition forced PLN officers to carry jerry cans to cross the village so that the operation of the generator would continue to run and the blackout could be avoided. Not only that, PLN officers also had to spend the night in the forest on their way to deliver fuel to the generator.
"But of course this is all a form of effort and our commitment to provide reliable electricity supply for customers," said Rendra.
The roads in Krayan have now turned into mud when it rains. In fact, cars with double axles must also be pulled by other vehicles to get out of the mud.
"There is great hope that PLN will repair road access in South Krayan so that the distribution of fuel can run smoothly. We also continue to make maximum efforts so that fuel shipments can run smoothly regularly with all the challenges that exist to maintain the sustainability of power generation operations and electricity supply to customers," he said.
