WFA Approved, Minister Of Transportation Beware Of The Surge In Homecoming D-10 Lebaran
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) is aware of the potential for a surge in homecoming flow on March 21, 2025 or D-10 Lebaran. This is because the day coincided with the last day of work before the work from anywhere (WFA) policy was implemented.
The government officially enforces the WFA policy for state civil servants (ASN) from March 24 to March 27.
The Minister of Transportation (Menhub), Dudy Purwagandhi, said that his party predicts a fairly high spike is possible because on that date it is the last day of work.
"There may be a fairly high spike because it is the last day of work if work is implemented from anywhere, so we are also aware of the spike that will occur," he said in a hearing (RDP) with Commission V DPR RI, Tuesday, March 11.
Dudy said the Ministry of Transportation noted that the trend of the movement of travelers in Lebaran 2023 and 2024 increased from D-7, peaked on D-4 and D-3, then then slowed back on D-2 to the holiday.
Meanwhile, based on an online survey for Lebaran 2025 Transportation, continued Dudy, a similar pattern is expected to occur with a significant increase on D-6 or March 25, 2025, and peak on D-3 or March 28, 2025, with an estimated movement of 16.8 million people or 11.5 percent of the total travelers.
Dudy hopes that the implementation of the WFA policy is expected to distribute the movement of travelers more evenly in the days before Eid Al-Fitr 2025.

"Our hope is that the implementation of work from anywhere in the community movement will be the same as the movement of people in 2023 and 2024," he said.
On the other hand, Dudy admitted that his party also proposed the implementation of WFA for the period of return after Lebaran 2025. He also admitted that he would coordinate with the relevant ministries to discuss the possibility of implementing the policy.
"We will also coordinate with the relevant ministries so that work from anywhere can be implemented for return," he said.
