Fired By Police Armed With Rice Toy Guns, Jak Lingko Driver, He Was Enraged By The Crowd
JAKARTA - A man with the initials DTK (45), who is a former member of the National Police, was arrested by the masses after extorting an angkot driver at the Jak Lingko base at Tanah Abang KAI Station, Gambir District, Central Jakarta. The perpetrator was then handed over to the Gambir Metro Police Headquarters along with evidence in the form of weapons brought to scare the victim.
Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Susatyo Purnomo Condro, confirmed the incident. He explained that the perpetrator had claimed to be a member of the National Police and brought a lighter in the form of a gun to intimidate the drivers. However, after further investigation, it was discovered that DTK was a former member of the National Police who had been dishonorably dismissed in 2012 due to a dissertation case.
"When he was arrested, he claimed to be a member of the National Police and brought a lighter in the form of a gun. However, after being examined, it turned out that he was a former member who had been PTDH (Disrespectful Dismissal) in 2012," said Kombes Susatyo when confirmed, Tuesday, March 11.
According to the Gambir Metro Police Chief, Kompol Rezeki R. Respati, the incident began when DTK asked a number of angkot drivers who were playing Ludo at the scene. However, before getting the money, the masses who were furious first arrested the perpetrators for their extortion.

"When searched, the perpetrator brought a lighter in the form of a gun which was allegedly used to scare the victim," explained Kompol Rezeki.
The results of further examination showed that the perpetrator was positive for using methamphetamine-type drugs based on the results of a urine test conducted by the police. Currently, the Gambir Metro Police is still investigating where the perpetrator got the drugs and whether there is another related network.
"We are still investigating the involvement of the perpetrators in drug abuse and whether there are other related networks," added Kombes Susatyo.
The police appealed to the public who had been victims of extortion by the DTK to immediately report to the Gambir Metro Police to assist in the process of further investigation.
