Ministry Of Manpower Noted That Sritex Group's Layoffs Reached 11,025 Workers
The Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) noted that the victims of termination of employment (PHK) of PT Sritex Group reached 11,025 which occurred in stages from August 2024 to February 2025.
Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Yassierli said the number of Sritex Group workers who were laid off, first occurred in August 2024, where 340 people were laid off by PT Sinar Pantja Djaja Semarang, at that time the company had not experienced bankruptcy.
Then, the layoffs of Sritex Group workers occurred again in January 2025, where the curator layoffs 1,081 PT Bitratex Industries Semarang workers.
Until the large number of layoffs occurred at the Sritex Group on February 26, 2025, with details of PT Sritex in Sukoharjo 8,504 people, PT Primayuda Mandirijaya in Boyolali 956 people, PT Sinar Pantja Djaja in Semarang 40 people, and finally PT Bitratex Industries in Semarang 104 people.
"This is the data we have received related to the total layoffs since August 2024 in that context is the Sritex Group," Yassierli said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, March 11.
Yassierli admitted that the government could not intervene in the curator regarding the layoffs.
"So what we have been doing so far is that since the bankruptcy decision, the Supreme Court's decision rejected the applicant's application at that time related to the cassation that we were doing was encouraging the going concern," he said.
He admitted that his party really cares about the fate of the workforce. The Ministry of Manpower hopes that even though it has been decided that operational bankruptcy can still occur. However, the company still decided to lay off.
"And this is what we are trying to continue until finally a few weeks ago the curator said this was the last option they had to do that they were forced to lay off. So we have done efforts to then go to the concern," he explained.

The next stage is the fulfillment of workers' rights related to severance pay, holiday allowances (THR), old-age security benefits (JHT), job loss guarantees (JKP), and National Health Insurance (JKN) after payment of wages that have been completed for workers.
However, the wages of the workers have been paid, while other rights such as severance pay, JHT, JKP, JKN, and THR have not been paid. This is Kemanker's concern to encourage this so that it can be done before Eid Al-Fitr 2025.
