Puan Affirms Appointment Of Acting Secretary General Of Prerogative Rights Of The PDIP Chairman

JAKARTA - Chairman of the PDI-P (PDIP) DPP Puan Maharani responded to the absence of the Acting Secretary General after the detention of Hasto Kristiyanto by the Indonesian KPK. Puan emphasized that this was the right or authority of the PDIP General Chair, Megawati Soekarnoputri.

"Because previously it was chosen in Congress and even if there is a change, it is the prerogative of the Ketum," said Puan at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, March 11.

According to Puan, changes to the PDIP DPP structure are usually carried out in Congress. However, if there is an extraordinary case, she said, it will be considered internally by PDIP.

"So why not, why so, why will it be, why add it and so on, of course because there are internal considerations which then there will be other considerations to decide whether it is necessary, not necessary, will or will not and so on," explained the chairman of the PDIP DPP for Political Affairs.

Regarding the schedule for the PDIP Congress, Puan could not confirm yet. He said that PDIP would discuss the schedule for the Congress after Eid al-Fitr.

"Until now, the party's DPP has not decided when it will be held and in what month, indeed at that time we said that it would be held in April but now it is still in the fasting month," said Puan.

"So we finish fasting first, we go to Lebaran then after that we DPP parties, of course with the general chairman, will hold a meeting to decide when the upcoming congress will be held," he concluded.
