Arsenal Vs. PSV Eindhoven Prediction: The Gunners Approval Match Launches To Top 8

JAKARTA - Arsenal are preparing to celebrate their qualifying for the Champions League quarter-finals after a 7-1 win over PSV Eindhoven in the first leg of the last 16. Armed with an almost impossible aggregate advantage to pursue, the Gunners only need to complete their duties at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night March 12 or Thursday morning WIB to ensure their place in the next round.

Arsenal made history with an incredible win in the first leg at Eindhoven. Mikel Arteta's team became the first team to score seven goals in an away game in the knockout stages of the Champions League. Declan Rice cs., displayed extraordinary sharpness in their final finish.

Even so, Arsenal remain vigilant as they show less convincing performance in the Premier League last weekend, only drawing 1-1 against Manchester United. Declan Rice's goal saved them from defeat, but a less bit performance could be a concern ahead of this second leg.

On the other hand, PSV Eindhoven had a nightmare in the first leg. Peter Bosz's team were powerless against Arsenal's dominance and failed to show the performance that led them to get rid of Juventus in the previous round. However, a 2-1 win over Heerenveen at Eredivisie last weekend at least restored their confidence a little bit.

Despite the chances of turning things around almost nothing, PSV have a mission to avoid another embarrassing defeat and end their bad streak in European competitions. They did not record a clean sheet in their last 15 away games in the Champions League, a statistic that could further exacerbate their situation in London.

If Arsenal score three more goals in this game, they will be the second England team in history to score 10 goals in a single two-legged Champions League game, after Manchester City against Schalke in the 2018-19 season (10-2).

Arsenal got good news with Gabriel Martinelli's return from a hamstring injury, but he had to be careful because one more yellow card would see him miss the quarter-finals. Therefore, Arteta may have chosen not to take it down in the first place.

Raheem Sterling and Jurrien Timber are also in a similar situation, at risk of being suspended if they get a yellow card, but they can stay in the starting lineup as Arteta is likely to rotate his team.

Some players who may have had the opportunity to play from the start include Ben White, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Jorginho, and Kieran Tierney. Neto could also be given the opportunity to perform under the bar replacing David Raya or Aaron Ramsdale.

However, Arsenal are still missing some key players due to injuries, including Bukayo Saka (hamstring), Takehiro Tomiyasu (lutut), Kai Havertz (hamstring), and Gabriel Jesus (lutut).

In the PSV Eindhoven camp, Peter Bosz still has not been able to field Malik Tillman (leg injury), Ricardo Pepi (knee injury), and Esmir Bajraktarevic (undisclosed injury). However, they did not suffer any additional injuries after a win over Heerenveen.

Lucas Perez, a former Arsenal striker who was just recruited by PSV, was unable to appear in this match because he was not registered in the Champions League. Therefore, PSV's front line will continue to rely on Luuk de Jong as the main man's target.

With a huge aggregate advantage, Arsenal are likely to play more relaxed and rotate. Even so, they remain favorite to win, especially with their strong home record in Europe.

PSV may be able to put up a better fight than in the first leg, but it's unlikely they can withstand Arsenal's attacks completely.

Arsenal (4-3-3):Neto; White, Saliba, Kiwior, Zinchenko; Odegaard, Jorginho, Rice; Sterling, Trossard, Tierney.

PSV Eindhoven (4-2-3-1):Benitez; Ledezma, Flamingo, Obispo, Junior;men, Schouten; Bakayoko, Til, Lang; De Jong.
