BI And State Bank Of Vietnam Agree To Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation
JAKARTA - Bank Indonesia (BI) and the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) have agreed to increase bilateral cooperation in the central bank area.
Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by the Governor of BI, Perry Warjiyo, and the Governor of SBV, Nguyen Thi Hong, and was effective on March 7, 2025 for the next 5 years.
This agreement is an important part of the results of a meeting between the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, and the Secretary General of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, To Lam, on March 10, 2025, as well as marking 70 years of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Vietnam.
Perry conveyed that this MoU is an important milestone in strengthening the previously established relationship between BI and SBV and a form of increasingly solid partnership.
"That this cooperation will provide mutually beneficial results for both central banks and contribute positively to national economic stability and growth," he explained in his statement, Tuesday, March 11.
On the same occasion, Governor of Nguyen Thi Hong also said that this MoU is an important step in increasing financial collaboration between Indonesia and Vietnam, which emphasizes the importance of the strategic role of the two institutions in maintaining financial and economic resilience.
Meanwhile, BI and SBV are committed to promoting sustainable financial stability, economic strength, and growth in the region.

In addition, this Memorandum of Understanding reflects a shared commitment to further strengthen collaboration within the framework of the cooperation of the two more structured and strategic central banks in the main areas of central bank duties, which include monetary, macroprudential policies and financial stability, payment systems and standings, as well as digital innovation.
Furthermore, this collaboration will be implemented, including in the form of policy dialogue on strategic issues, exchange of experiences and knowledge including joint study/research, capacity development and data exchange or information.
