WFA For ASN Approved, Minister Of Transportation Dudy Calls The Peak Of Homecoming Flows Expected To Occur March 28
JAKARTA - Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi conveyed that the proposal to work anywhere or work from anywhere (WFA) for the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) has been approved.
"The peak day of homecoming is likely to occur on March 28, 2024, however, due to the approval of the implementation of work from anywhere (WFA), we also anticipate if there is a density/homecoming activity that begins on Friday, March 21, 2025," he said in an official statement, Tuesday, March 11.
Dudy said that a number of main points that need to be considered are tourist sites in homecoming destinations, spilled markets that usually start opening ahead of homecoming flow and backflow, railway crossings.
In addition, he continued, what also needs attention are ferry ports that have the potential to experience buildup, such as Merak and Bakauheni ports, Banten Province, and Ketapang and Gilimanuk ports in East Java.
"To address this, we have also collaborated with several local governments, especially to anticipate these dense points. We also ask for security from the police and local governments," said Dudy.
Dudy also said that the Ministry of Transportation had prepared a number of transportation facilities and infrastructure to deal with the Eid Transport period from March 21 to April 11, 2025.
"The Ministry of Transportation has provided a number of transportation facilities and infrastructure to help smooth the travelers to their hometowns, be it land, sea, air, or railway transportation," said Dudy.
Dudy said the readiness of transportation facilities and infrastructure for Lebaran Transportation was as many as 30,451 buses available at 115 terminals, 772 ships available at 264 ports, 404 aircraft units at 60 airports, 2,550 locomotives and trains, both between cities and regionals.
"As well as 187 ferry units at 14 crossing port crossings," he said.

In terms of safety, continued Dudy, the Ministry of Transportation also continues to intensify feasibility tests on these transportation facilities.
As of March 8, a rampcheck had been completed or tested for 60.67 percent or 18,746 bus units.
"Against 85.49 percent or 660 units of ships, 68.47 percent of aircraft, 60.66 percent or 1,547 units of locomotives and trains, as well as 43 percent or 70 units of ferry ships," he explained.
