HRV Car Hit By Singasari Train In Blitar, One Person Died

BLITAR - Blitar City Police, East Java, handled an accident involving a train with one car that caused one person to die.

Head of Blitar City Police Traffic Unit AKP A Andang Wastiyono explained that the accident occurred at a level crossing without a gate on the Village/Sanikulon District highway, Blitar.

The vehicle involved was a four-wheeled Honda HRV with police number AG 1895 MG, the driver was Heriyanto (54) a resident of Kauman Village, Kepanjenkidul District, Blitar City. There were also passengers on behalf of Misnanto (55), a resident of Sanangilon Village/District. The victim of Misnanto died at the scene," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, March 10.

The accident occurred on Monday evening. Prior to the incident, the Lionasari Railway was heading for Blitar-Pasar Senen. Meanwhile, the car was traveling from north to south.

When passing at a level crossing without the gate of the Village/Sub-district Sanjailon highway, Blitar Regency, it rained.

According to him, usually at the crossing there are volunteers on guard. However, because at that time there was no rainy weather for volunteers who usually guarded the doorstop at that time.

"Then there was a collision between R4 Honda HRV Vehicle Nopol AG 1895 MG and Singasari Train heading for Blitar - Pasar Senen Number 149 which drove from east to west," he said.

His party suspects that the driver of the four-wheeled vehicle does not concentrate while driving and does not see the situation when crossing the railroad crossing.

As a result of this incident, the driver of the car was injured. Meanwhile, the passenger died.

Currently, the police have evacuated the injured and died to the hospital for treatment.

"We have also secured the evidence and sent the victim to the hospital," he said.

His party appealed to motorists to be careful on the highway, especially when crossing the crossing without latches. Drivers are advised to pay attention to traffic to anticipate accidents that occur.

A train accident also occurred in Kediri Regency, between Kertanegara Train and a fertilizer truck at a gateless crossing at KM 175+4 between Kras-Ngadiluwih Station, Kediri Regency, Monday.

As a result of this incident, there were injured victims including the truck driver and the passengers. They are still critical and are being treated at a hospital in Kediri Regency.
