President Prabowo Hopes Vietnam Increases Partnerships More Comprehensive
JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto in a bilateral meeting with the Secretary-General of the Vietnam Communist Party (PKV) To Lam requested that Indonesia and Vietnam could increase more comprehensive partnerships.
During a meeting at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, President Prabowo said the increase in cooperation would strengthen the relationship that had been fostered between Indonesia and Vietnam since 1955 or 70 years ago.
"This year should be considered as a very good momentum to improve our relationship to a higher level, to a comprehensive level of strategic partners," President Prabowo told the Vietnamese delegation, reported by ANTARA, Monday, March 10.
Prabowo said that the equality of history and value, especially in terms of maintaining independence and state sovereignty by fighting colonialism, both imperialism and colonialism, is one of the similarities possessed by Indonesia and Vietnam.
With the same vision, Indonesia and Vietnam must organize a future to bring the prosperity of the nation to become a developed country by 2045.
"Our problem is the same as what your party is fighting for, we both want to improve people's lives. We want to eradicate society from poverty. Your Honor, we admire how the struggle of the Vietnamese nation is therefore we are happy that we have this relationship and we want to continue and improve it," said Prabowo.
Closing his statement, President Prabowo invited Vietnam to work together stronger to achieve the same goal for each country to bring stability to peace for the prosperity of the Indonesian people.

Meanwhile, the Secretary General of PKV To Lam and his entourage before holding a bilateral meeting with the Indonesian delegation were officially accepted by President Prabowo Subianto at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta.
Secretary General of PKV To Lam accompanied by his wife Ngo Phuong Ly and his entourage arrived at the Merdeka Palace at around 16.45 WIB. His arrival was greeted by elementary school (SD) students who raised the Indonesian and Vietnamese flags.
After that, President Prabowo and Secretary General of PKV To Lam attended the welcoming ceremony procession, among others, listening to the national anthem of the two countries accompanied by an honorary cannon performance.
