Prosecutor's Office Hands Over 221,000 Ha Sawit Land Duta Palma To The Ministry Of SOEs

The Attorney General's Office (AGO) officially handed over confiscated palm oil land from the corruption proceeds of PT Duta Palma covering an area of 221,000 hectares (ha) to the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN).

The land was handed over through the signing of evidence of oil palm plantations carried out by Attorney General ST Burhanuddin and SOE Minister Erick Thohir.

Then, the Ministry of SOEs also handed over the management of the 221,000 ha oil palm plantation to PT Agrinas Palma Nusantara (Persero).

Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Ardiansyah said the oil palm plantations handed over to PT Agrinas Palma Nusantara (Persero) are located in Riau Province.

Furthermore, Febrie revealed that the garden was scattered in Kuantan Singingi, Rokan Hulu, and Kampar Regencies.

"This concerns the existence of evidence of a fairly wide oil palm plantation and its productivity has also been going on for a long time. This is a position in Indragiri Hulu Regency, where the suspect is a corporation," he said at Danareksa Tower, Jakarta, Monday, March 10.

Febrie explained that the oil palm plantation land came from nine companies that are members of PT Duta Palma Group.

Seven of them, he continued, had been handed over the suspect and the evidence from the investigator to the public prosecutor.

Two are still in the process of being investigated. Of the nine corporate suspects, there are 37 plots of land for oil palm plantation assets with a total area of 221,868,421 hectares or 221,000 hectares," he said.

In detail, of the nine corporations, seven plots of land covering an area of 43,824.52 hectares are in Riau Province, precisely in Kuantan Singigi Regency, Rokangulu, Kampar, Volunteers.

Then, 21 other oil palm plantation plots covering an area of 137,626.01 hectares spread across West Kalimantan, namely Bengkayang Regency and Sambas Regency.

"This evidence is an important instrument not only in the law enforcement process, but it concerns so many implications," he said.

Febrie admits that there are limitations of the prosecutor's office to be able to manage the evidence. This interest is not only a component in the evidence, but also the sustainability of the business.

"Because there is quite a lot of labor here, there is a potential for gardens to be maintained, and here there are also rights and obligations contracts in business qualifications that do not have to be cut off," he said.

Therefore, Febrie explained that from the start the prosecutor had asked the Ministry of SOEs to be able to manage the land.

"Well, what is the technicality, it will be discussed again by the technical team. The condition of the evidence submitted is in good condition, and this is the result of the prosecutor's coordination and serious efforts and is supported by the relevant ministries, related parties, including the last of the Forest Area Control Task Force," he said.
